CTS Control Pots

About This Item

CTS pots have long been the first choice in American guitars. CTS pots from StewMac have even more to like: closer tolerances and longer life!

We've specified these CTS pots to feature a longer-life brass shaft and tighter ±10% resistance tolerance compared to CTS products offered by most other suppliers.

CTS precision audio taper gives you smoother and more accurate response than you'll get with economy pots. Crank your guitar up to 10 and the volume swells all the way—no abrupt flattening to choke your playing style.

Available with split shaft for fine-knurled (24-spline) knob, or with smooth shaft to fit a set-screw knob. A long-shaft 500K-ohm version fits Les Paul style carved-top solidbodies.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts for custom height adjustment on a pickguard or control plate.

Which pot value should you choose?
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground.

Replacement Mounting Nuts and Lock Washers are also available.

Nice quality - Good price

By

We've used these pots in many of our rebuilds for a few years and been pretty happy. Brass shaft, audio taper CTS's are def nicer quality - sturdy with smooth roll-downs. Having been through a few, we find them to be consistent & reliable, which is important w/ rebuilds. Its one less thing to worry abt when wrestling a guitar together frm asstd. (sometimes quite expensive) parts.
StewMac stays on top of their inventory & ships quickly too. We appreciate this esp since buying supplies off the web can involve sketch sellers.

Thanks again ~

The CTS pot arrived very timely and the support is the best. They even sent another pot along for free when I had some questions on my wiring.

Good reproduction of vintage CTS

Pot looks and works like vintage OEM, even has a brass stem.

very well built

great quality, and I like the resistance it has to turning, just right! The taper isn't right for me however. Maybe it's got to do with my particular guitar, but it loses volume too dramatically right when you start turning it down. I'd prefer something more gradual (the previous volume pot which went scratchy was better).

Exactly what I was looking for.

I ordered these to replace an Alpha volume pot in a Epiphone SG. The CTS is much more linear so mission accomplished.

Volume pot upgrade

Replaced a factory volume pot in my made in Japan Squire P bass. It gave it a better, clearer sound. You can't beat CTS for quality.
