Details

Straight-up raw vintage! Closely modeled after an outstanding vintage P.A.F. set from our own collection. That sweet tone was just too good to keep to ourselves!

True vintage sound.
We christened these exceptional humbuckers in tribute to the famous Kalamazoo address where the holy grail of pickups, the legendary P.A.F. (Patent Applied For), was born.

Just like the originals, the slug coil has more windings than the polepiece coil, and both coils are unpotted. Old P.A.F.s weren't made in separate neck and bridge-position models, and their DC resistance varied from 7-9K ohms. We give you a choice: Parsons Street neck-position pickups are wound to mid 7K, and bridge-position models to low 8K.

Golden Age Parsons Street Humbuckers sweet vintage tone was crafted to vintage P.A.F. specifications:
• Nickel-silver cover for tone transparency
• Original 1.97" (50.04mm) polepiece spacing
• Plain enameled AWG42 coil wire
• Black paper coil tape
• Wood spacer
• Choice of Alnico 2 or Alnico 5 magnet
• Nickel-silver baseplate
• Single-conductor braided shield output wire

Your choice of original-style magnets:
• Alnico 2 for warm tone with smooth highs and a soft bottom response.
• Alnico 5 produces a clear tone with more pronounced highs and a tighter low end.
(Original P.A.F.s contained Alnico 2, 3 and 5 magnets at various times.)

Neck models: mid 7K ohms
Bridge models: low 8K ohms

Parson Street Humbuckers

A nice all-round old school humbucker. I put them in a Les Paul, and they sound great. The bridge has nice smooth clean tone, with just enough grit for a solid overdrive tone. The neck (with the alnico v) is warm but not muddy. Inside the bobbins are a matt cream colour. So if you prefer the uncovered look, they are reminceent of the '70s. Cheers

Amazing PAF's!

I recently stuck these in my '93 Gibson LP Studio, and I'm floored by the noticable improvement in tone. Tone is totally a subjective matter, but if you favor vintage tones, you will LOVE these pickups. Along with sounding great, they appear to be well made, and look great. Also, the price point on these is downright ridiculous. They should be twice as much, or rather, thats what you'd spend on comprable pickups, at least. In my opinion, these are superior to Gibson USA pickups.

Mixed set  5416-S

Wow!! - I'm impressed with the vintage tone. I fitted these to a Washburn Jazzbox. It now has the vintage warm Jazz tone I was looking for.

I used a mixed set; Alnico II in the bridge and AlnicoV in the neck. The pickups are perfectly balanced and compliment each other. The sound is very clear, articulate and defined. No mud here.

Very happy. I've already spread the word to my guitar playing friends.

I have an Ibanez ar300 which I rarely played because the bridge pu never seemed to cut it. After installing the Parsons St neck & bridge set the guitar has come to life! I've been dealing with Stewmacs for a number of years and still maintain that for quality & service they are the leaders. PS: Some Australian companies could learn from Stewmacs example.

Good, But Muddy  (And it's a shame so :[ )

I purchased Alnico 5/neck, and Alnico 2/bridge. I replaced the pickups in my Gibson SG and am slightly uneasy about the change. The pickups did add some character and warmth (which I was looking for), but the warmth was accompanied by quite a bit of mud. They installed easily, look great, and sound fine. However I will be switching to a cleaner sounding pickup in the near future. These pickups are an upgrade for a lower end epi, but a downgrade for an intermediate Gibson.
I recommend going with Both Alnico 5's for a cleaner sound.

Super Vintage Tone!

By Michael W from Boyce,Virginia

I just installed a set of these in my Epiphone LP Standard. Alnico V at Neck, and Alnico II at bridge. I also installed a USA made 50's style Wiring Harness over the cheap electronics. All I can say is WOW!!! Fantastic Vintage tone with these PUPS. My next project will be installing another set in my Epi DOT Deluxe. Thanks STEWMAC for a great product!!
