Vintage dimensions for easy installation in standard pickguards and bodies.
Wax-potted for microphonic suppression.
Wiring diagrams included with each pickup.

Length: 2.75" (69.85mm)
Width: 1.5" (38.10mm)
Height including mounting tabs, bridge pickup: .840" (21.34mm)

Color-matching Cream Parts and Bindings
There have always been slight variations in the color of the cream plastic parts used on Gibson and other guitars. It's not uncommon to see brand new and vintage guitars with bindings, pickup rings, toggle switch rings and pickguards that don't perfectly match in color. We do our best to match all our cream products, but there's no absolute control from batch to batch, or from supplier to supplier.

LOVE IT!

By \N from \N
(Customer's Reviews) Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Due to the Overwounding..it produces more bass and mids and less highs. IT has a hotter output that does change your guitar tone a lot in a good way.

If you want a 'ballsy' tone..get this. IT works well with 2 of my Guitars...a TELE copy and Ibanez GIo.

When Played Clean .. it has a lot of dynamic range....which will suit Guitarists who have a very high expressive skill.

Great fat sound

Have become my standby pups recently. Love the low end sound at both the neck and bridge.

Unleash the Beast!!!

I have a rather simple guitar with a lone humbucker in the bridge position. I've toyed with the idea of swapping out pickups for a while so I made the leap using a "less expensive" pickup so I wouldn't be out too much if I broke it. Imagine my surprise when it turned my pussycat of a guitar into some kind of growling monster!!! Very pleased with the quality and sound of these humbuckers. Definitely a LOT of bang for your buck. Will you make the leap?

High gain sleeper....

I am a metal guitarist. I have played everything short of boutique European pickups. Currently using EMG and Duncan pickups. I Recently picked an Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul with Gibson 498T/490R pickups. They sound really good but I was looking for something a little meaner. I read a couple reviews on the G.A. overwound pickups and people were saying they were better. I ordered a single bridge pickup to see if they were correct. Upon discovering the Les Paul has some proprietary quick connect electronics, I put it in another all mahogany guitar. "HOLY S#$%!" was my immediate response to the first big drop C chord I struck. After swapping in a ceramic magnet I was floored even harder. The EMGs and Duncan pickups sound weak by comparison. I just ordered a matched zebra set and new pots for my Les Paul. These babies are not just for the vintage/clsssic rock crowd. They slay and I am sold 100%!

Fantastic pickup!!

Sweet, sultry, aggressive tonal beast. I love this pickup and how it transformed my guitar. Whether it be distorted, clean or a mix of the two, this pickup is fantastic. I have used more expensive pickups that didn't even come close to the sound of this one. If you're on the fence about buying one of these, just DO IT!! You won't be disappointed. Great product!! 200% Satisfied!!

Golden Age overwound pickups

I bought my first set, 1 single coil, 1 humbucker, at the end of 2012 for the guitar shown here. This is my first try at building a carved top LP type. I chose them based on reviews and of course price and have no regrets. They were installed with push/pull pots for humbucker/single coil mode and in/out of phase for the neck single coil, and 3 way selector switch. This is my standard configuration which gives 8 tone options. The customer is very happy with them and so am I. Since then I've used them in 2 other builds, one of which is now my main gig guitar. I've recommended them to others as replacement units and gotten positive comments from them. Well done, please don't mess with the specs.

Great Humbuckers

I purchased these about 2 1/2 years ago for some mods on my '87 Epiphone LP Custom. I got the zebras, which look very nice with the ebony finish. I also bought a pair of gold pup covers in case I wanted a classic look. They sound amazing, and when plugged into a Marshall tube amp they really scream. I have had no issues with them over the years and have relied on the guitar for both gigs and practice. All in all an excellent purchase.

I have just recently built a new guitar using only the rear pickup with a coil tap. The guitar is just a fender strat-trem and a pickup, EVH inspired. I have worked with classic pickup builders, and i must say this pickup is the way they all want to be when they grow up. THIS PICKUP ROCKS, IT IS VERY PUNCHY YET CLEAN. I have chosen it for the guitar i am going to market next week.

STELLAR

(Customer's Reviews) Sunday, December 08, 2013

I put them in wrong at first (with color combo like the Les Paul Traditional Pro) and they sounded horrible. Once I turned them around, I got the tone and overall sonics I was looking for. These are better than the Dimarzios I've tried and so much closer to that Gibson swell I need from my guitar. I put them into a 2007 Epiphone LP that already sounded great, but this boosted it even higher.
These are just awesome.

Had some SD "Seth Lover" pickups in my Les Paul. I wanted a different tone and thought I would try the Golden Age Hot Humbuckers. WOW! Great pickups and all the tone you could ever want!
