Awesome first experience!

Buying a set of these tuners was my first purchase with StewMac and it was perfect like the parts. All the pieces were in the package and they also fit and worked properly for my 58' Flying V rebuild it looks amazing string changes are a breeze and it stays in tune couldn't be happier.

Worst tuners I have ever purchased

Bought them as a replacement set because they were locking tuners to install on an ES-339. Not only do they look utterly atrocious, with their screw tops that destroy the look of any headstock, they don't work very well. They don't lock the strings very well at all. If you tighten too much, you get string breakage, especially on the high E and B. Very disappointed in this TonePro product. First time I get a bad user experience from this company.

Do Not Use TonePros Kluson Locking Tuners for PRS SE Singlecut Guitars

I got the TonePros Kluson locking tuners to replace the stock tuners on my PRS SE Zach Myers. I chose them because I had read on a forum post that they were drop-in replacements on the Zach Myers, they had a similar look to my stock tuners, and I like and have used TonePros products in the past so I know they're a quality product.

However, if you look at the attached photo, you'll see what the problem is. The tuner on the right is the stock tuner, the one on the left is the TonePros Kluson locking tuner. Notice that the TonePros Kluson tuner has a collar enclosing the tuner post. This collar does not fit into the PRS SE tuner holes without modification. To make it work I was going to have to ream out the hole and I didn't really want to do that. So, I called Stew-Mac and was told that they did not carry any tuners that didn't have the collar on them, so my choices were to ream out the tuner hole or try and find another solution.

Fortunately, after a little more searching on-line, I found the Gotoh SD90-MGT locking tuners. These tuners did not have the collar and I found on other forum posts where these had been used on PRS SE singlecut guitars without problem. Stew-Mac doesn't carry them, but I was able to find them on eBay and they arrived today. These tuners installed without any problems at all. The only thing I had to do was remove the stock bushings and install the Gotoh press-in bushings in order to install the tuners. I actually like the Gotoh tuners better than the TonePros Kluson tuners because they use a thumbwheel on the back of the tuner for locking instead of the TonePros Kluson top locking system. Also, and this is minor, but the buttons on the Gotoh tuners are a closer color match to the stock tuners I replaced. In the photo, the TonePros Kluson tuners are a much lighter shade of green than the stock tuners.

So bottom line is, Do Not Use The TonePros Kluson Tuners for PRS SE singlecut guitars!

Really Nice Lockers

Makes string changes a breeze and added tuning stability to my Gibson's. Bought 4 sets, each came complete, nothing missing, and matched the holes of the stockers perfectly. I'm new to StewMac. Thus far they've been great to buy from.
