Character Encoding

If you're trying to create an account, or checkout at stewmac.com and characters aren't appearing properly, it's okay. This can be fixed by adjusting your browser's character encoding settings to Western European character encoding.

Follow the instructions for your browser to change character encoding:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and higher
  1. Select View | Encoding.
  2. Select Western European from the list.
Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and higher
  1. Select View | Character Encoding.
  2. Select Western European from the list.
Google Chrome 10.0 and higher
  1. Select Menu icon Three horizontal lines | Settings.
  2. Click Show advanced settings.
  3. Under "Web content" click Customize fonts.
  4. Under "Encoding" click the drop-down menu.
  5. Select Western European from the list.
  6. Click Done.
Apple Safari 3.1 and higher
  1. Select View | Text Encoding.
  2. Select Western European from the list.
