I have an older edition that does not have the DVD but the book is very useful & offers a lot of trade secrets that take a lot of error our of many trials!

I am considering the new edition for the signed copy & for the DVD..

Must Have

If you were to learn as much as you can about guitar-repair from 1 book, this is the one! I first bought the 2nd Edition 15 years ago and loved it! I bought this one to see what's new.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was there is a considerable amount of grammatical-errors and was not as well written (compared to the 2nd Edition). In the end it is still a great source of knowledge.

Thank's Dan

I had the earlier version in Australia. Having now moved to Texas and playing guitar again, had to buy the book again because it is an invaluable reference when setting up my guitars.

Indispensable reference work

There's a good reason this book was reissued a few times. Originally, I got the 2nd version and it was so good that I acquired the next 3rd release when it went out for sale.

Everything in this book says about the vast experience of the author behind this work. I keep turning to it every time I need to fix something. The solution might be something simple that is easy to come up with on my own but it's always nice to consider the other options as well - it's like having a personal counselor luthier with me all the time. Besides, there may be situations when this books spares you from making expensive mistakes - it's better to learn from somebody else's, right?

Overall, a necessary addition for every instrument maker/repair person or a player who wants to know what it takes to make a quality repair or set-up.

Truly a great book!!
As a guy that is going into Luthiery and who has asked quite a few people about books and tools, they all have mentioned this book! There is so much in it and links to other books and schools........a must have!
