Preservation Polish

About This Item

Silicone-free and repair shop friendly, with no wax or silicone residues. 12-ounce bottle.

Preservation Polish gently cleans, polishes and protects lacquer and varnish finishes.

Ordinary guitar polishes shine by leaving a long-lasting silicone residue that's very hard to remove. If your guitar ever needs a repair, the silicone will prevent glue or finish from adhering, making even simple repairs more difficult and costly.

Simply apply Preservation Polish with a clean cotton cloth. It leaves no wax or silicone residues, so there's no cloudy film, stickiness or build-up. And it won't discolor the patina of vintage finishes.

Luthiers and repair shops: You've learned the hard way that guitars and silicone are bad company. Silicone residue makes it difficult for glue or finish to adhere properly and is a primary cause of "fisheyes" and cratering in lacquer finishes. It's even worse if silicone reaches bare wood or gets into the cracks of older finishes. Even the simplest finish repairs can become more difficult, time-consuming and costly. Do your colleagues a favor — use Preservation Polish and recommend it to your customers!

I have only been using this product for a short while. It seems to work pretty well and I have no issues with the smell one reviewer spoke about. I am sure this product will work well and I will end up reordering when this bottle gets low!

You'd have to break out the buffing wheel and compound to get a better shine!

Great product. Cleans well and also first choice for new finishes. I have given it as a gift...to my friends!! I don't use any other product.

The best I've used

This stuff is the best I've ever used, and I've used a bunch. Gives a nice gloss to any instrument except those that are VERY dirty. It make all the small dings and tiny marks nearly invisible, while not being a barrier to future repair work, or so I'm told (no repairs requiring spray in years, thanks). On easy, off easy.

Best polish out there

I have used several guitar polishes with mediocre results. In fact, I started to neglect the cleaning and maintenance of my guitars because I often felt that the finish looked no better after I finished polishing them and that my efforts were just a waste of time. After using this polish, my opinion changed. It restores gloss and satin finishes to a factory-new resilience and leaves no nasty looking residue on the instrument (this is a first in my experience). One bottle of this will last a long time and you will not easily find another product of this caliber.

Works good not the amazing end all polish like it sounds.. At least to me.. Gets guitars clean from build up but like other polishes for shine and getting that silky smooth slick feel..

Very good cleaning and optically bright polish. Good size amount for the price. No silicone a real plus. Won't use anything else from now on.

A little fussy to use compared to some spray bottle polishes, but dang, this stuff works. Very well named. It took years off my guitar. If it worked on people as well as it does on guitars, we'd all look like movie stars. WhooHoo!
