Build an authentic vintage-style acoustic guitar with the same top wood as the originals. Superior stiffness-to-weight makes Adirondack red spruce first choice for authentic vintage tone. This is the wood originally used by Martin and other makers before Sitka spruce became more readily available after World War II.
Kiln-dried bookmatched sets of two quartersawn halves, thickness-sanded, ready for joining and profiling in your shop.
See details below
Each Dreadnought soundboard half is approximately 8-1/2" x 23" (215mm x 584mm) and thickness-sanded to .125"-.130" (3.18mm-3.30mm).
Important grading information: Adirondack red spruce trees of sufficient age and size to yield guitar soundboards are limited. For this reason, we grade this wood separately into A and B varieties, according to consistency of grain spacing and color. Please note that both grades have a less consistent appearance than our higher grades of Sitka spruce.
