True vintage sound.
We christened these exceptional humbuckers in tribute to the famous Kalamazoo address where the holy grail of pickups, the legendary P.A.F. (Patent Applied For), was born.

SAVE on neck and bridge sets!

Just like the originals, the slug coil has more windings than the polepiece coil, and both coils are unpotted. Old P.A.F.s weren't made in separate neck and bridge-position models, and their DC resistance varied from 7-9K ohms. We give you a choice: Parsons Street neck-position pickups are wound to mid 7K, and bridge-position models to low 8K.

Golden Age Parsons Street Humbuckers sweet vintage tone was crafted to vintage P.A.F. specifications:
• Nickel silver cover for tone transparency
• Original 1.97" (50.04mm) polepiece spacing
• Plain enameled AWG42 coil wire
• Black paper coil tape
• Wood spacer
• Choice of Alnico 2 or Alnico 5 magnet
• Nickel-silver baseplate
• Single-conductor braided shield output wire

Your choice of original-style magnets:
• Alnico 2 for warm tone with smooth highs and a soft bottom response.
• Alnico 5 produces a clear tone with more pronounced highs and a tighter low end.
(Original P.A.F.s contained Alnico 2, 3 and 5 magnets at various times.)

Neck models: mid 7K ohms
Bridge models: low 8K ohms

Dimensions
Length2.75"(69.85mm)

Vintage Quality at vintage prices

I've read many reviews on these pickups before pulling the trigger. I bought the set, the Alnico 2, and am thrilled. Once arrived, rather quickly I might add, and discovering how well packaged, I went and put them in my Samick JZ-3. I have had 3 different sets of pickups in this since buying it, and was never quite happy. (The original "Designed by Duncan" H102 {I call these the "blameless" 'Hey, we designed them, but didn't build them'}, a set of Ibanez V7 and V8, and a DiMarzio DP102 in the neck, and an unknown Duncan in the bridge.) I was never happy with the electric tone. After putting these in, and the orange drop caps, an improvement. Not much over the last set, but it was there. THEN I started adjusting the heights and pole pieces..... FINALLY a pickup that brought out the best tones in a hollow body! The neck has that warmth, especially with a twist on the tone pot, that the guitar should have always had. In the middle position, a clarity that was never noticed before. The bridge pickup itself, is worth the price! A bit of power, of sparkle, and crank the gain, a sweetness that wasn't there before. My next pickup purchase will be from Stew-Mac again!!

Parson Street Humbuckers - winner!

After reading so many glowing reviews, I ordered a set of P-Street Humbuckers for my year old Les Paul replica. I was gigging with the axe for awhile and felt it sounded OK, but not being one to leave well enough alone, I replaced the original Chinese PU's with the P-Streets, Alnico 2 in the bridge and 5 in the neck. Now I know what an old Les Paul is supposed to sound like. I'm very satisfied with the end results very woody tone and just hot enough to push a Fender combo amp a bit when run flat out. And pretty reasonably priced to boot. Thanks Stewmac.

Dynamite upgrade

I installed the alnico 5 neck and alnico 2 bridge combo set in a Japanese made 1997 Epi LP Standard. The quality and sounds of these Parson Street PAF's rival the Gibson's for a whole lot less money. After years of this guitar being in the case in my closet, it is now my number one player. Thank you Stew Mac.

epi L/P standard plus

I got a neck & bridge alnico 5 Parsons St. Golden age set. 7.2K & 8K. I found the bridge p/u in the neck position & the neck p/u in the bridge position sounded best. I mean really, really nice. Gibson did this in the past and I can hear why! The vol pots must be LINEAR & tone pots AUDIO! This will yield a vol control that works from 1 thru 10 perfectly! I dig these p/u's! I tried Kent, PRS, Duncan 59 & JB & the Parsons beat them all! To my ear unpotted p/u's sound sweeter. Thanks StewMac!

P.A.F. Emulator

After decades of reading about what the original P.A.F. humbuckers where compiled of: DC resistance, staggered wound coils, enameled AWG42 wiring, nickel silver baseplate, etc. - These pickups have all the true ingredients for a P.A.F. copy. I bought the AlNiCo II for a Strat H/S/S bridge application. I removed the cover for to match the other single coil pickups. I have to say these pickups sound like what I perceive a P.A.F. should sound like. Single crispness that sings when overdriven. Pickups aren't rocket science. They got it right. So, why pay more?

A5 Bridge has a great vibe.

Installed this in an Ibanez JTK4 just for grins and hoping for a basic but brighter tone. Wow, what a fine sounding pickup this is especially for the price. I will do it again the next time I am in the market for a vintage vibe tone.

Excellent!

Although I own many Gibson guitars, I've also found a few Epiphone Les Pauls I have really liked. The only snag was that the pickups were muddy (and the electronics need upgrading). Epiphone number 1 has Gibson 1957 pickups and now Epiphone number 2 has the Golden Age Parson Street PAFs. The Parson Street pickups sound great and do compare with the Gibson pickups in the other Epiphone. A GREAT SOUND for an affordable price. I recommend that anyone out there try them. I have the Alnico 5 at the neck and the Alnico 2 at the bridge. BOFFO!

Don't spend more anywhere else!

I purchased the Alnico 5 in the neck, Alnico 2 in the bridge combo for my Les Paul build. I had been contemplating buying one of the several sets from some of the name brand pickup manufacturers out there (Seymour Duncan, Lindy Fralin) but figured I'd give these a try for the price. Don't bother spending $50 or $200 more for any set of humbuckers out there - you don't need them. These pickups are simply outstanding. Once the pickup height was adjusted correctly, I was able to coax the cleanest tones that I have ever heard out of my guitars. The neck pickup is warm and great for B.B. King blues or playing jazz. Turn up the tone on the bridge pickup to hear a little Waylon Jennings. But these really shine when you add a little distortion. These give you the clean, punchy crunch of AC/DC and Zeppelin and if you add a little overdrive you can bring out Zakk Wylde harmonics. These pickups give you great tonal range without sounding weak when run through clean channels or muddy with distortion.

G.A.P.S. humbuckers

These pickups are open, airy and chimey. I have an antiquity, sounded dull until I used an alnico 5. These p/u's sound better! Plenty of tone and output. Buy a pair! You will not be dissapointed! I went with the alnico 5. Many wax potted p/u's sound dull compared to these. StewMac does themselves an injustice not having a video that has a good guitarist putting them thru their paces. I am using an EPI custom L/P + a TSA15 with sylvania power tubes thru a EV-15L. Simply awesome! Thanks STEWMAC.
