These Golden Age overwounds actually sound far better than the authentic Gibson PAFs on my SG. They have all the warmth, more output, and much more clarity. I'm hooked!

I have received my Golden Age Hot humbucker...sounds beautiful, plenty gutsy, really really great! Got blues baby.

I recently purchased a pair of Golden Age overwound humbucker pickups. These have changed a so-so sounding guitar into an instrument that I will never part with. You guys really know what you're doing over there. Thanks again.

Better than I thought they would be!

Replaced my Gibson SG stock pick ups with these. The multiple leads allowed me to use the six speed Wonder switch to split these for the ultimate tonal variety. These over wounds sound exceptionally well on the thin body SG as they don't need a ton of wood to give them drive. They can be made to overdrive quickly with .03-.05caps or darkened a bit with .047's I used 500K pots and .047s as i found the .05 caps when the buckers were split single coil, ear drum shredding! I have spent hundreds on Lollars, Duncans and Fralins and never been this happy. However the front pickup leads tend to be a bit short and are not labeled which can confuse you when you get down to business, well it was for me anyway.

Golden Age Delivers-- Again.

Hot, but not so hot it doesn't sound great clean. Great classic, mature tone like all of the other Golden Age humbuckers I've installed in my instruments, but with that extra output that I needed to balance-out the bridge pickup role of a particularly quiet Gibson-style solidbody instrument-- These pickups sound like they were made for whatever I install them into.

5405 Pickup

So far so good using this pickup on latest project and only just having completed it initial indications are excellent fitting and wiring went smoothly using the supplied hardware and instructions. Sound wise it can easily be compared to other humbuckers that cost 3 times the price.

This is a great pickup.

I have a PRS Custom 24 that I've been testing all kinds of pickups on. I've tried Seymour Duncan- JB, Screamin Demon, Pearly Gates. Dimarzio- Mo Joe, Fred, Paf Pro. PRS- HFS, Dragon II, McCarty. Gibson- Burstbucker Pro, 490b, 498t. You can see from the list that I'm looking for a hotter sounding PAF (alnico V pickup) but not a super distortion ceramic pickup. This is really nice sounding pickup with great harmonics, nice mids and highs, and a nice tight bottom end. I would say it's a cross between a Seymour Duncan JB and a Gibson Burstbucker Pro. The JB has to much mids and can get muddy the Burstbucker can sound a little thin. This is a great combo of both the clearity of a Burstbucker and the kick of a JB. Really good job people and for the price well what can you say, Amazing. Peace, Ivan

3 sets, not out!

Just ordered my fourth set of Golden Age overwound humbuckers, the previous 3 being installed in a Flying V, my chrome top Les Paul and an Epiphone Firebird studio. The power, tone, sustain and harmonics from these pickups is amazing and so musical! 3 guitars, all sound and feel different but all a joy to play, it just doesn't get any better, great stuff Guys!

Great Pick up

I had these put into a Epiphone Les Paul 100. It made a cheap Les Paul sound like a real Les Paul.

Best bridge pickup I have ever used.

Great tone, even harmonics, and just the right amount of growl. I put this pickup (Zebra version) in along with a black regular Golden Age and almost 2 years later I am still amazed. This pickup finally achieved the sound I had heard in my head for this Les Paul. The only change I would make to it would be to have the vintage braided ground/single conductor wire.
