Side Bending Strap

i just finished bending sides for three new concert ukes using the stainless bending strap. No breaks, no splits, no problems- it holds the heat, supports the bending wood. A big advance in my bending technique

Once you figure out that wood bends better because the bending strap keeps in the moisture (as advertised) then even hard curly Maple bends much better and more quickly. I really think this is a valuable addition to your bending tools arsenal.

First time bending for me. Worked as advertised, but felt clumsy using it. It really seemed to just get in the way. I felt it was easier and you have more "feel" for what is going on without the strap. I was bending Indian Rosewood, but may help on more difficult/sharper bends or more difficult woods.

I bought the bending strap with my new bender from Stewmac. The wood I used to bend did not really need the strap except for when I did the cutaway. However on trickier timbers, I am sure the strap would come in very useful. I'm pleased I bought it.

The side bending straps really do make bending sides a bit easier! I have recently used them on some really tricky highly figured Brazilian Rosewood, and feel that they just give that extra bit of help when more pressure needs to be applied
