Acoustic Bridge Locating Pins

Read 13 Reviews   |   Write a Review

Our 1-1/2" polyethylene pins accurately align a pin bridge for gluing. They won't stick to Titebond™ or hide glue, their taper matches most bridge pins, and they can be cut off above the bridge and below the bridge plate before clamping and gluing. Two pins in the outer bridge pin holes are usually all you need. After the glue dries, press them out and reuse or discard them.

Locating Pins

I've read the other reviews and wonder why they could not use these pins to locate their bridges. They fit the guitar I used them for. They have helped me to repair two more pulled off bridges and I had no problem. Go figure..

Way to big

The diameter on these pins is way to big.
I have yet to find a bridge they will fit.
A good idea poorly executed!

Wwwwaaaayyy too big.

I don't think I've ever seen a guitar bridge these would fit. More sizes should be available... Til then I'll lathe a few sets from hardwood and wax em. Glad I didn't spend a lot on them. That said, they're a good idea I hadn't thought of til I saw it here.

Too Fat!

You need to inform potential buyers that this item will not work with a 3 degree pin. I was not able to use them at all on the guitars I build and repair. Please offer them in two sizes!

Great value

For the cost of these, their usefulness is great. It made repairing a bridge much easier, allowing for quick alignment over the original holes and keeping the glue from flooding in to them.

simple, effective and a really good product

This is such as simple item but it works really well and the glue does not adhere to them. Recent guitar in for a bridge reset but the peg holes were worn to the point where the pegs were loose in the holes. Normally I would use two of the pegs to align but in this case, that was not an option. Using the locating pegs completed the job beautifully. Oh! incidentally I did tell the customer he needed remedial action on his bridge which he declined.

Pretty good

I am on the same vein as a previous reviewer. These work very well-however they do require a little hand work to get the right diameter to fit into peg holes correctly. After that, they work great-just used them last week.

perfect

after checking and rechecking the measurements, turns out the bridge I had to reset was in the right place....tapped the two outer pins into the bridge, clamped, dried, perfect intonataion...great idea.

Too thick

Such a shame that these are far too thick and wont fit through most pin holes without a lot of fiddley cutting. It is far easier to grease up some cheap bridge pins and use those instead. If thay fitted straight off they would be very useful.

Oversized

While this is a great idea for bridge locating on repairs, I fouund the pins oversized diameter an issue. They did not go through both my Martin bridge and the bridge plate far enough to firmly hold the bridge in place. For one to turn down a tappered pin, one needs a lathe w/live center and dial indicator to center. This all could be avoided if the major diameter was smaller and more to true pin sizes with a slight over size. This stuff is not sandable or cutable with any ease. They were basically un-usable to me, at least so far.

Since I am new to repair work, I also am not sure if both the bridge and bridge plate are tappered at the same time but if not, this can't work as the tapers with not match at the bottom of bridge and top of plate???
