Cream Plastic Binding

I feel that cream colored binding gives an instrument a more vintage appearance than white binding does. This binding is easy to install,shape, and finish. It gives my banjos a warmth and luster instead of having a white glare along the edges of the fingerboard and resonator.

I use the cream and black for my carved top and back guitars.

A bit of advice on using the 14.35mm deep binding - use a heat gun (I use a paint stripper gun) to bend it around the instrument. Need to be careful as too little heat and it just doesn't bend and too much and it goes too limp. I cut it down in half on a band saw and leave the small thick part 10 mm for the cut away where the carved top gets deeper.

It was hard to use at first until I experimented but superb now.

What can you say? If you want cream binding then don't waste your time looking elsewhere. StewMac binding is brilliant. Another reviewer said it is easy to work with lol - I find that making up purfling and bending binding a nightmare to work with but you will not get better. I import mine from the USA to the UK because StewMac is the business.

The binding worked ok as far a bindings go. I wish it would have been more like celluloid than vinyl, but it did work fine. I didn't pre-bend the binding but that was no issue really. It did trim up well and took to the glue and lacquer very well.

Good color match, easy to work with, and sized well.

Really nice binding. I cut it with a Dremel to fit the size of the channel, the cut was very clean.

I compared this binding to original Gibson guitar and it is a perfect match.I used it on a few of my guitars.I guess it would be perfect for repairing vintage instruments.
