I bought this as my first purchase from StewMac; they had the best price I could find online. Shipping was incredibly fast and the jack was exactly what I needed - definitely an upgrade to the poor quality jack included on a USA tele.
I installed one in my 66' tele and was very pleased with it's sturdiness. The electrosocket jack mount is the greatest invention for the telecaster since the tele was first invented. I think Leo Fender himself would have approved.
After years of frustration with the standard jack cup on my 1993 Telecaster, I picked up one of these electrosocket jacks during my complete overhaul project. It took about 15 seconds to install and it doesn't move! No more wiggly jacks!
I will be installing one of these on any Telecaster I acquire for the rest of my life, probably within 2 days of acquiring it. It's amazing that Fender doesn't install these on their guitars instead of the silly standard jack cups.
This is the *only* way to mount a jack for a Telecaster.
The jack/cup combo has always been the Tele's Achilles heel. This solution is SO simple and So logical it makes one wonder why it ain't stock on ANY new Tele-style axe. (By the way, installation takes about 63 seconds so there really ain't no excuse!)
These things are dead reliable, and work amazingly well. I wish they came in chrome.
I purchased these for the custom Tele I built back four or five years ago and enjoyed the ease and quality of these outputs that I replaced all the outputs on my instruments I built. They also are great for speaker cabinets. Just need to drill a ⅞" hole and two screws. Easy!
I love them, very easy to install. Look great, light weight. Recommended !!
I now install the electrosockets in every tele-type guitar I build. It has eliminated the drag of installing the old style cup plates.
Provides a secure and good looking finishing touch
