TUSQ Saddles

As always, good quality, easy to work with and a really great clear tone.

The saddle was exactly what I needed. Quality seems spot on but a challenge to file- fits better than the original. Thanks for the on-line advice from the Stew-Mac staff.

I have an old Silvertone 619 archtop guitar I am restoring. It had an old nonstock wooden bridge that was in poor condition and I replaced it with a Foley archtop bridge with a bone saddle. I know bone is accepted as the absolutely best material for a saddle but the tone sounded dull to me. I replaced the bone saddle with a Tusq saddle and the difference was definitely noticeable. The sound is now much brighter and clearer. I think Tusq is really hard to beat and its easy to shape. Highly recommended.

This saddle was very easy to trim and shape and is very solid. I like the tone as well, but I can't say it's bone tone. Although I used one of these to improve my son's Martin OMCX1KE (no question and improvement) and one to replace the worn saddle on a old Takamine jazz guitar, I would consider it a step down on my Collings.

I'm getting these for now on a huge time saver for me I had minor fit time and no more making bone saddles for me

I got the 20 inch radius tusq saddle for my mid 1990's 12 string yamaha fg 312 II because the stock plastic one split into 3 one day. So I picked this one up, and it fit perfectly. Right length and width. I just had to sand it down a bit because it was too tall, but other than that, it is a great upgrade. Not only that, but the sound and sustain is amazing now with it. Definitly worth it.

A Taylor Guitars staple. Makes for a quick replacement if you but the compensated model. This is a manufactured material that is extremely hard.

This material is fantastic!...It rings like a silver coin when you drop it on a hard surface or work it in a vise, is easy to fabricate, and doesn't give that sweet smell of bone when you sand it. The difference in sound on my 0-18 is like night and day with the new saddle...great stuff!

Requires shims to replace the old wood saddle on my 1970 Gibson, but works very well when fitted. Some improvement in volume and clarity.
