I have two sets of these. They are a kinda heavy, but make your life really easy when tuning and replacing strings. Really, I would not change them for any reason.

These are awesome tuners. I have them in my electrics as well as my acoustics. Installing them is somewhat tricky, and they may come out crooked even if you use the included cardboard template. StewMac sell a nice little jig to solve that issue. I always hear people complain about the ratio, as these are 12:1 and there are some tuners out there that have an 18:1 ratio. In all my 30 years as a guitarist I have never encountered a player that could not reasonably tune a guitar because of a 12:1 ratio. You can blame that on deafness, but not on the ratio. The tuning stability and ease of string changing is worth every penny you pay for these tuners. Get them.

This is my second set of these tuners and I can't say enough about them. I put them on my first project guitar ten years ago and they're still working great. I love that you can just stick the string in, lock it down and tune up. I can leave my other guitar in its case for a month, come back to it and it's still in tune. Great tuners!

I just want to chime in here to hopefully save somebody the trouble I ran into. I bought the 6 in-line set. The tuning gears ship with a template that you use to install them correctly. However, the word "template" appears nowhere, and to me, at least, it wasn't obvious.

The part of the box where the instructions are IS the template! You cut along the dotted line, punch out the small hole, and then use the flat edge (opposite where you cut) to line up against the edge of your neck's head.

Once I realized that, after searching the Web, it was easy.

I've had several guitars and basses with Sperzels through the years, so when my old acoustic needed new tuners theses were an obvious choice for me. Easy install, solid tuning, quick string changes... What's not to love?

Tuners worked great. I would recommend buying the jig that is made to help position the pin hole. The paper jig that comes in the tuner package moved around too much to get a consistent hole drilled for all 6 tuners.

Hey man before these I had some bad grover tuners. Grover said it's the finest tuner we can buy .. Sperzel prove me the contrary .. My neck is quite flexible so very sensitive to my hand pressure when I play and before it never return to normal tuning there was always a string which was not correctly tuned. I simply didn't tune my guitar again with Spertzel. Moreover they're are so beautiful!
