great head, but agree with another reviewer, don't put the sticker on the head.
I must say that these are good heads, but please label the size on the bag and not on the mylar. They do not remove easily with naphtha and it slows us down unnecessarily.
What can you say about a banjo head other than it's white and if stretched right, gives your banjo a ring and punch. I have used other brands but keep coming back to the Remo Weatherking and prefer to buy all my banjo supplies from Stew Mac.
Good Head just fits my home-made shell
I was replacing the head on my old Kay open back banjo, which has a smooth finish with frosting on the back. So I was a little surprised when this one had the frosting on the front where playing will wear it off. Took a little getting used to the feel and sound when playing, as I now have a sandpaper hiss when my finger hits the head (with the accompanying drag on my hand). The frosting also makes repositioning the bridge a pain. Quality was top notch, however, and it went on without trauma or drama.
Very pleased with the improvement over my old head. Five stars, overall, since my gripe is personal preference, not product quality.
the banjo head installed perfectly and meets all the customer's needs well
great sound, precise and clear
The best that can be bought. A bright cut but still has a deep low end sound when used on a Gibson five string.
Making the banjo was a cinch with parts supplied and service from StewMac. Only the pot was made by me from Australian Eucalypt kiln dried hard wood. Pals and even banjo teacher have remarked on the finish and the tone. Proud to play banjo with The Tanjil River Band.
