Use our hardwood sanding blocks as fret levelers, with 220 through 400-grit Stikit self-adhesive abrasives. With 80 through 220-grit Stikit, they're used for shaping fingerboards. They apply a radius quickly, accurately and without guesswork. For compound radii, change blocks as you progress along the neck.

Also see our shorter blocks for spot leveling, and for use as clamping cauls when gluing frets.

Each hardwood block is 8" (203.20mm) long and 2-3/4" (69.85mm) wide.

What's your radius?
Quickly find the curvature of a fingerboard or bridge with a set of radius gauges. Use them frequently to check your work as you smooth or shape a fingerboard or frets: a quick visual check keeps you from accidentally altering the shape—a mistake that's easy to make and hard to fix.

Cut and stick!
3M Stikit Gold Paper Self-adhesive Abrasives are the right width for our leveling and radius sanding tools. Attach 80 through 220-grits for radiusing and leveling the fingerboard, and 220 through 400-grits for leveling the frets.

Radiused sanding block

I used this block and a 12" radiused blaock to true up my fretboard on my own guitar. This is a great tool, and is a big help when sanding and radiusing the fretboard.

Great tool

I love these things. I have one of every radius offered by Stew-Mac and use every one of them. I can now do fret level and re-crown jobs in 30 minutes! I would, however, like them to offer one in a 15 inch radius for all the Ibanez guitars I work on.

Block Talk

Appears to be made from hard maple. The block is precision cut. Worked perfectly.

Sanding block

They work good if you know how to use them. Just make sure you check that they're not warped before you start. Like anything made of wood, they can warp in different directions on a weekly basis due to temperature and humidity fluctuation. Just check before use and you're set.

not bad

work pretty good, just wish they would bevel the ends so when you hit a high fret it wouldn't rip the sandpaper

fast and accurate

i was kind of iffy about these blocks, but after using one all i can say is wow Does the work fast and accurate, no guess work. Do yourself a favor and buy a set of each 4 and 8 inch blocks. You will not regret it.
