Instrument makers and repair shops rely on us for the highest quality 18% nickel-silver fretwire. We supply our fretwire in 2-foot straight lengths. Order 6 feet for a complete guitar or bass fret job, and 4 feet for a mandolin, banjo or ukulele.

Order fretwire by the pound for tidy savings!
Our bulk fretwire is supplied in convenient clear storage tubes, to keep your wire organized and your workbench uncluttered. You’ll save 50% or more when you order fretwire by the pound.

Our fretwire is sized to fit a 0.023" (0.58mm) fret slot width.

Fretwire is made in a variety of crown heights. Note that after the frets are installed and leveled, they can lose from .004" to .010" in height. High fretwire has a crown height of .045" or more. It may offer more note sustain due to its slightly greater mass, and more fret dressings are possible between refrettings. Low fretwire is often useful for partial refret jobs.

Nice and low

Has great playability, keeps strings in tune if pressed too hard, makes for nice action. Uniform between pieces took about 2 1/2 sections for 22 frets.

Consistency and value!

I have used #0149 wide wire for years and have never had any problems. The wire is consistent, easy to work with, seats easily and stays put. Very little leveling is needed.

The 150 is an awesome wide fretwire

I love using the 150 fret wire for my guitars because it makes my guitar frets look thick and shiny like a bass fingerboard. The quality of the wire is awesome and has never given me a bad fret.

very good fret wire

as someone stated before know what your working with. there is the debate over leaving the slot as is or bigger. depending on the instrument whether vintage or non one needs to think ahead of time before doing the work. fret compression adds stiffness which makes for better tone. again know what your working with and do some research. the fretting dvd's helped me and are a great start.
