Wiring Kit for Telecaster

Read 17 Reviews   |   Write a Review

Here's what you need for wiring those pickups into your Tele®! All the parts you'll need, plus a diagram to show you how.

The standard kit is an economical choice for any wiring job. It has standard PVC-insulated wire and Alpha pots.

The premium kit features cloth-covered push-back wire — the right wire for Fender and vintage-style guitar circuitry. The pots in this kit are upgraded to CTS brand for longer life and a smoother, more accurate response.

Great Quality, Shy on Quantity

Don,t get me wrong the quality of the pots, switch, and jack is great. The kit comes with all good parts. However the wire... only enough to complete about half the job. I have tried several times to use the wire scarcely and just can not complete a wiring job with the only wire supplied. You will probably half to get more wire.

Best Option for Me

I have a '78 Hofner (Strat Body) that needed an upgrade. One of the pots was wobbly and both were functioning poorly. After reviewing what was available, the Tele Wiring Kit fit my needs best. Since I had single coil pickups I wanted to use the 250K pots from this kit. Also, I did not use the 3way switch as mine was a 4way with chicken head knob. The included wiring diagram got me pointed in the right direction and was very helpful. I also made a close examination of everything under the pickguard before any dis-assembly. If it was more complex, I would have drawn a schematic to be sure I knew where everything belonged. Once I got everything in place, I placed the pickguard into the body cavity but did not screw it down. I had to test it now and was quite nervous at this point. In the long run, everything worked as it should have. I am quite pleased with the results, no static or dropouts and a smooth action in both knobs. Thanks for having enough variety in your wiring kits to allow me to do this upgrade.

Good price!

A good kit for standard setup. The wiring sheet is handy, with wiring options. Well worth the money!

Painless Wiring

I Love Stew-Mac wiring kits, will continue to use these in the future. I used this kit on my latest build, a custom tele for my church band. Combined with the high end pickups The pots and switch make it sound great.

Works good

Well it went right in and I have had no problems so far. The parts seem to be of good quality and the pots and switch have a good feel to them.

Good except for switch

For the most part, this is a good kit. The only real problems I've had with at least the last 3 kits is the 3-way lever switch. What problems:
1. The barrel knob doesn't stay on well. It's not tight enough and requires a touch of glue to keep it in place.
2. The connectors and rails have to be bent to ensure contact as they seem to have too much flexibility and lose contact easily. I've had 3 comebacks from clients with the last 3 kits.

The pots are great, the caps are too, so no problems in these areas.
