Wiring Kit for Stratocaster

I bought this kit for a strat i'm building. In the past i bought the harness pre built. Not any more. These are quality parts and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to complete the harness. Consider getting the Emerson cap with this build if you prefer the warmer tones.

I was happy with 95% of my strat build parts I ordered, except for a couple of things. This kit contained a ceramic cap that was absolutely tiny! The .047 cap in the kit was way too small to work with. With the exception of the .047 cap and the weak screws for the string trees I installed, everything else was great. The guitar I built sounds good. (Premium kit)

The package looked good at first, but when I tried to turn the volume pot before soldering it in, it was way worse than anything i've ever found on 100$ guitars. The rest of the kit were of good quality, though a few extra inches of push-back wire wouldnt hurt.

Nice smooth pots.The push back wire is great! one pot fell apart when i was putting the knob on but I was able to put it back together I decided to swap it with a TBX tone control anyway to go with the Eric Clapton mid boost.When you put the knob on you might need to squeeze the shaft of the pot together a little or it might fall apart like mine did. The problem with the pot was my fault NOT STEW MAC! Order this kit,and you won't be disappointed!

First off delivery was fast as always. The kit had what we needed to get a project finished and would be a great starter for anyone doing their first wiring job. The pots, switch and the wire are not the top of the line but they are very good and a significant upgrade for a low priced import strat. There are tons of Squires and other knock offs out there for next to nothing and it's fun to take one of these clunkers and experiment with it good teaching aid If you want to stay true to spec with a real vintage guitar or custom job by all means go with the vintage kit or get a supply of the cloth wire,pots and switches Stew Mac usually has discounts on multiple orders of the same Item.

Having reported a faulty switch in my last review ... Stewmac have replaced it free of charged as promised. Thanks guys, now all is well!

It was never my intention to use all of the parts in this kit. But in the end only the pots and the jack remain in my guitar. The 5 way switch failed after only 2 weeks. First the neck pickup position became intermittent and a couple of days later all positions followed.
