These are the familiar pots we've supplied for years in 25K, 250K, 500K, and 1 meg-ohm versions, plus a long-shaft 500K version for Les Paul style carved-top solidbodies. Great prices, too—luthiers and repair shops can save big on orders of 50 or more.

Each pot has an aluminum split shaft that fits a coarse-knurled (18-spline) knob.

Alpha pots are audio taper with standard ±20% resistance tolerance. Each pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts for custom height adjustment on a pickguard or control plate.

#3755 25K-ohm
For controlling the volume or tone of active pickups, or for use after the preamp of a piezo-saddle transducer bridge.
Shaft diameter 6mm split shaft, coarse knurling
Thread   M8 x 0.75
Threaded portion height   3/8" (9.52mm)
Required mounting hole diameter   5/16" (7.94mm)

#0128 250K-ohm & #0130 500K-ohm
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground. A 1-meg pot attenuates even less than a 500K—try one if you want to hear your guitar "wide open."

#3482 500K-ohm, long shaft pot
For Les Paul and similar solidbody guitars.
Shaft diameter 6mm split shaft, coarse knurling
Thread   3/8" x 32
Threaded portion height   3/4" (19.05mm)
Required mounting hole diameter   3/8" (9.52mm)

#3481 1 Meg-ohm
Get the most out of your guitar with a 1 Meg-ohm pot. All pots bleed a certain amount of the signal to ground, this "attenuation" can be used to warm the sound of your guitar's pickups, but you can also run your guitar "wide open" with these 1 Meg-ohm pots!

Which pot value should you choose?
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off some of the high frequencies to ground. A 1-meg pot bleeds off even less than a 500K—try one if you want to hear your guitar "wide open."

1-meg pots are also ideal for piezo pickups, as the ultra high impedance piezo element is more adversely effected by conventional, lower-value pots than magnetic pickups.

25K pots are for controlling the volume or tone of active pickups, or for use after the preamp of a piezo-saddle transducer bridge.

Replacement Mounting Nuts and Lock Washers are also available.

Please make them stronger

Most of the things that our shop buys from StewMac are top quality. This is one of the holes in the fabric that really needs to be patched up. When using the knob remover/lifter (also sold by StewMac) half the time the shaft on these weak pots gets pulled up and gets yanked out of the base. These doesn't happen with CTS, Allen Bradley, or other pots I've used in the past. I really think you should either improve their strength or get pots supplied to you from another company. These are the worst I've ever seen. The gritty scratching feel when turning them doesn't inspire confidence to me (or my customers.)

25K-ohm pot disappointing

I was doing a custom EMG install on a Tele and the new EMG pots have circuit boards and quick connectors on them. Instead of disassembling all of that, I just ordered a 25K ohm pot from Stew-Mac. As always, arrived seconds after ordering or so it seemed. Super fast shipping times from these guys! The pot was a little bigger than I hoped in diameter and you could hear it when you turned the shaft. It was noisy before putting it in! It was a little flimsy feeling. I ended up finding some old EMG supplied pots that I was able to use. I'll keep this one as a spare, but it wouldn't be my first or third choice to install.

25k Volume pots

If you're looking for Vol / Tone pots for your EMG's , don't bother ordering these. The shafts are too short and the pots are so so quality.

Guitar Pots

These are very similar to the old CTS pots. Smooth and well-made. Solder lugs and solderable backs. Metal shaft instead of nylon or plastic. However, the 500K post are only available in "A" taper. We need both "A" and "B" taper pots for guitar work. Hopefully, Stew-Mac will also offer "B" taper pots in the future.

Good quality and good price

When I got them out of the box I was worried because they felt a little scratchy. But, I have installed them and have not been disappointed. They are smooth, accurate and noiseless. I will not hesitate to use them again in future projects.

Gets the job done

I had to replace pots for a repair, and even as a complete beginner, these were no trouble.

Potentiometers

This is a good quality potentiometer. I make it a habit of flushing new potentiometers prior to putting them into the circuit, The STEWMAC pots have not let me down yet.
