We've specified these CTS pots to feature a longer-life brass shaft and tighter ±10% resistance tolerance compared to CTS products offered by most other suppliers.

CTS precision audio taper gives you smoother and more accurate response than you'll get with economy pots. Crank your guitar up to 10 and the volume swells all the way—no abrupt flattening to choke your playing style.

Available with split shaft for fine-knurled (24-spline) knob, or with smooth shaft to fit a set-screw knob. A long-shaft 500K-ohm version fits Les Paul style carved-top solidbodies.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts for custom height adjustment on a pickguard or control plate.

Split shaft, fine knurling

0.235" (5.95mm)
3/8" (9.52mm)
Solid shaft

1/4" (6.35mm)
3/8" (9.52mm)
Thread 3/8" x 32
Thread height 3/8" (9.52mm)
Thread height, long shaft 3/4" (19.05mm)
Required mounting hole diameter    3/8" (9.52mm)

Which pot value should you choose?
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground.

Replacement Mounting Nuts and Lock Washers are also available.

Not bad

I like the brass shafts, smooth feel. The taper seems to me to be more linear than audio though. You can add a resistor equal to half of the pots resistance between the two ungrounded lugs if you want a smoother taper though so no big deal. Well made so still a good rating.

Good pots

Ive had some mixed results with CTS pots but not when I buy them from StewMac. Its obvious that they are tested because they are very consistent in performance. Buy them in bulk and save. Smooth to use and clean sound with no crackling.

Cts pots worth the extra

Just finished handwiring a les Paul studio, gotta say the cts pots are worth the small price difference!

CTS Pots

These pots are quiet and sound good, but I prefer the Alpha pots on Stewmac, because I do a lot of swells and just use the pots all the time when I play, the CTS ones just turn too stiff for what I do.

Not happy

I installed 1,in my house bass as a tone pot(1 pickup,1 vol. 1 tone W/orange drop Cap.) I was expecting a smooth transition,BUT,the change on this one is very abrupt. I gave it 1 star, because i had to.Wont buy anymore.

great pots

What to say, very good and robust. Only pity, one was defective but stewmac sent a new one to me, so now my ibanez af125 got rid of all the original low quality electronics!!!

Smooth taper and quality build

Solid, high quality pots. Highly recommended. I installed a set of long shaft pots in an Epiphone ES-295.
